Wearing the Uniform Properly:

The UOD (Uniform Of Day) are Tuesdays, unless told otherwise.  The uniform should be worn ALL DAY.  All points will be deducted for not wearing the uniform the whole day.  YOU are responsible for uniform items!  Any damaged or lost uniform items should be payed for.

I. Hat
The hat is worn with the crease closed and 1-2 finger widths above eyebrows.  The vertical crease should be fully extended, pointing upwards.  The hat should be worn with the fold of the hat forwards.  The insignia should be worn on the upper-middle portion of the hat, at the end of the hat that has folds (the insignia will be in the front).  When not worn, the hat should be tucked under the belt on the right side, between the 1st and 2nd beltloops.  Hats should be taken off when inside, and put on when outside.  Note:  The hat can get very dirty quickly.  Due to the sensitive material, the hat should be dry-cleaned, not laundered.

II. Hair
For males, the hair will not exceed 1 and 1/2 inches on the top of the head, and will not exceed 1/2 inches at the termination point at the back of the head.  Hair will be blocked or tapered, and will not exceed from the eyebrow or below the hat line. If sideburns are worn, they will be in a neatly trimmed fashion.  Bizarre hairstyles are not allowed. For females, hair will be arranged neatly so that the hat can be woren properly.  Hair will not touch the collar of the shirt.  Poneytails are allowed if within standards.  Hair ornaments are not allowed except for those similar to the hair color.

III. The Short Sleeve Blue Shirt and Accessories
1. The Shirt
When wearing the shirt, a V-neck shaped undershirt will be worn.
The shirt will be fully tucked-in so that it is in a professional manor (not bagging out). When not wearing the tie/tab, the top button (colar button) will be unbuttoned.  When wearing the tie/tab, it will be buttoned. All buttons must be replaced and all strings should be cut off (around the patches and near the collar are likely places for strings).

2. Nametag/Ranks
For males, the nametag is worn parallel with the right pocket and centered
For females, the nagetag is centered between the lapel and arm seam, 1-3 inches above the top button. The shirt should be laundered and starch should be applied after laundering.  Ranks are worn facing down the collar half (the triangular point).  Each side of the rank should be touch the seams on each side.  When worn correctly, the ranks should be facing upwards (when wearing a tie/tab).

IV. The Tie/Tab
The tie/tab should be worn in a professional manner, and tied correctly.  The tie should not be worn out of proportion (being too long or too short).  An appropriate length for the tie is near the belt buckle.  Note:  The tie/tab can get very dirty quickly.  Due to the sensitive material, dry-clean, do not launder.

V.  The Coat and Light-weight Jacket
1. Coat
The coat should be worn on special occassions.  All buttons will be buttoned and in a neat maner.  The pockets of the coat are for decoration only!  The tie/tab should be worn with the coat.  You may comfortably take off the coat when in a formal setting (classroom, ball, ect.). The coat should be dry-cleaned, not laundered, due to the sensitive material.  Note:  it can get very dirty quickly.  When not worn, it would be helpful to put a plastic covering over it.

2. Light-weight Jacket
The jacket should be worn on a cool day, not the service coat (unless told otherwise).  When wearing the jacket, it will be zipped up at least half way.  Ties/tabs shold be worn with the jacket.  The jacket should be dry-cleaned and, not pressed with a hot iron

VI. The Belt
For males, the belt is threaded through the loops to your left.  For females, the belt is threaded through the loops to your right.  Only the metal tip of the buckle should show (not the clamping metal part).  The edge of the belt will be perfectly aligned with the seam of your shirt and zipper of the pants.  This is known as your gig line.  The metal clamp can be used to adjust the belt for a propper fit.  The excess of the belt should be cut off (NOT THE PART WITH THE METAL TIP).

VII. Pants
The pants should be worn with the propper distance from your shoes (as instructed when fitted).  When worn, the pants should not be wrinkled or ceased (except for the creases in fron of the pants).  Note:  The pants can get very dirty quickly.  Dry-clean pants, not launder, due to the sensitive material.

VIII. Shoes
Shoes should be in propper length (as directed by fitter).  The shoes should be shined at all times.  Note:  it would be helpful to keep a rag with you because they will get dirty when in use.
